Calgary French & International School (CFIS) is an accredited co-educational private French immersion day school located in Cougar Ridge in Southwest Calgary, Alberta, Canada.  On a 10 acre campus, CFIS offers enriched French immersion programming and the Alberta Education curriculum for children from preschool to Grade 12.

Parents need not speak French; however, students entering the school after their Kindergarten year must come from a French immersion programme or a French-speaking environment.

Students at CFIS participate in an enriched and rigorous academic curriculum, character and leadership education, fine arts and music programmes, as well as sports and athletics.  Students are encouraged to develop their intellectual, physical and creative potential to become caring and self-reliant young citizens who contribute positively to the world.

As part of the Admission process, potential students undergo an observation (preschool to kindergarten) or admissions testing (Grades 1-12) and a interview.  Students may also spend a day within a classroom of their current grade level.

To determine the admissibility of any applicant, the student’s academic record, behaviour and attitude, extracurricular pursuits, and citizenship qualities are considered. Students from Grades 4-12 require a personal letter of reference and a letter written by the child, in English and French, explaining why they wish to attend CFIS.

Siblings of current students are given sibling priority status if the applicant meets the entrance requirements.
